Confederate Memorial Institute Boulevard Between Stuart and Kensington Sts. Richmond, Va.
Card text
This impressive building occupies an especially desirable and suitable site, adjoining the Confederate Soldier's Home, and is surrounded by a beautiful park, the landscape treatment of which is most pleasing and effective. It was erected for the purpose of perpetuating the memories of persons distinguished in the Civil and Military life of the Confederacy, and of preserving the now priceless relics of that memorable period. The location and environment of the building, as well as the simple dignity and monumental character of its design, are in perfect keeping with the purpose for which it was erected. The cornerstone was laid May 20, 1912.
