Original Description (From Book)	c. 1846-47 - This house was built at the same time as 15 West Clay Street. This was the home of Bishop Whittle, the Episcopal Bishop of Virginia. It is a very fine house in the stepped gable Greek Revival style. The house is particularly well-preserved with its original porch in fine condition. It served as the parsonage for the Hood Temple.
Original Note (From Book)	The 00 Block of West Clay Street contains the finest collection of stepped gabled Greek Revival houses in the City. It was originally owned by Addolph Dill, a prosperous baker. Dill began the development of this street as a high quality residential area, a character which has largely been maintained.
