              MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE BOARD OF VISITORS 
        OF VIRGINIA COMMONWEALTH UNIVERSITY 
            January 16, 1985


  A special meeting of the Board of Visitors of Virginia Commonwealth 

University was held on Wednesday, January 16, 1985, at 5:30 p.m. in the

University Meeting Center.

  Present were Mesdames Thalhimer and Whittemore; Messrs. Allen, 

Lipman, Reynolds and Smith; and Drs. Gayle and Moore. Absent were 

Mesdames Abady and Bemiss; and Messrs. Berry, Farinholt, Grey, Ludeman,

and Morris. Also present were Dr. Ackell and Mrs. Price.

  The purpose of this meeting was to discuss the Report of the 

Board's Self-Evaluation Committee. However, a quorum was not present 

so no business was conducted.

  The meeting was adjourned at 7:30 p.m.
