MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE BOARD OF VISITORS
OF VIRGINIA COMMONWEALTH UNIVERSITY
August 2, 1983
A special meeting of the Board of Visitors of Virginia Commonwealth
University was held on Tuesday, August 2, 1983, at 10:00 a.m. in the
University Meeting Center.
Present were Messrs. Allen, Craigie, Farinholt, Grey, Ludeman,
Reynolds, and Smith; and Drs. Coleman, Gayle and Nemuth. Absent were
Mesdames Bemiss, Thalhimer and Whittemore; and Messrs. Cotten, Lipman
and Morris. Also present were Dr. Hall; Messrs. Bruegman, Kelly, Kiley
and Saksen; and Mrs. Price. Ms. Karen Gould and Mr. Jim Moore from the
Attorney General's Office were also present.
Mr. Ludeman called the meeting to order and on motion made and
seconded, the Board convened into executive session to discuss pending
litigation with its attorney and to discuss the consideration of cer-
tain personnel matters as authorized by Section 2.1 - 344 a(l) and a(6)
of the Virginia Freedom of Information Act.
Following executive session, on motion made and seconded, the Board
approved the proposed settlement agreement related to pending litiga-
tion as presented with the understanding that it is subject to final
approval of the Attorney General and the Governor of the Commonwealth
of Virginia.
The meeting was adjourned at 12:00 noon.
