MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE BOARD OF VISITORS
OF VIRGINIA COMMONWEALTH UNIVERSITY
May 18, 1983
A special meeting of the Board of Visitors of Virginia Commonwealth
University was held on Wednesday, May 18, 1983, at 6:00 p.m. in the
University Meeting Center.
Present were Messrs. Balfour, Craigie, Ludeman, Morris, Reynolds
and Smith; Drs. Coleman and Nemuth; and Mesdames Thalhimer and
Whittemore. Absent were Drs. Butt and Gayle; Messrs. Cotten, Grey and
Wyatt; and Mrs. Bemiss. Also present were Drs. Ackell, Hall and Woods;
Messrs. Bruegman, Guerdon and Ware; and Mrs. Price. Invited guests
included Dr. Laurin L. Henry, Dean of the School of Community and Pub-
lic Affairs; Dr. Alvin J. Schexnider, Associate Dean of the School; and
Dr. Ralph Hambrick, Director of the Center on Public Affairs.
Following dinner, Drs. Henry, Schexnider and Hambrick presented an
in-depth presentation on the School of Community and Public Affairs and
the Center on Public Affairs and their public service activities.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:00 p.m.
