MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
OF THE BOARD OF VISITORS
June 29, 1979
A special meeting of the Executive Committee of the Board of Visitors
of Virginia Commonwealth University was held on Friday, June 29, 1979 at
7:30 a.m. at the Sheraton Motor Inn.
Present were Dr. Blanton, Messrs. Bliley, Grey and Mrs. Satterfield.
Absent were Messrs. Dabney, Scott and Shumate. Also present were Dr. Woods,
Messrs. Carter and Lash.
Mr. Grey reported on behalf of the Hospital Committee with reference
to its last meeting. Mr. Lash presented the proposed hospital budget and
the necessary changes in charges. The Committee recognizes that the budget
is predicated upon an increasingly sound performance for the coming year,
falls within the guidelines for increases in health care facility charges
as proposed by the federal government, and meets the requirements and ob-
ligations of our bond issue. Following some detailed discussion, the actions
of the Hospital Committee with respect to the hospital budget and increase
in charges were approved.
The Committee recognized also that the total Board had been polled
with respect to the Budget.
Copies of the Hospital's Committee's minutes, the hospital budget,
and changes in hospital charges are attached to these minutes.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:30 a.m.
