MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE OF THE
BOARD OF VISITORS OF VIRGINIA COMMONWEALTH UNIVERSITY
December 7, 1972
A special meeting of the Executive Committee of the Board of Visitors
of Virginia Commonwealth University was held on Thursday, December 7, 1972,
at 12:00 noon in the President's Dining Room.
Present were Drs. Blanton and Gwathmey, Messrs. Dabney, Obenshain
and Turnbull. Mr. Scott and Mr. Sheffield were absent. Also present were
Drs. Brandt and Willett, Mr. Shumate and Miss Cosby.
Dr. Blanton announced that there would be a meeting of the Executive
Committee of the Board of Visitors on December 8, 1972, at 1:00 p.m. in the
President's Dining Room. Dr. Philip Minor and some of his associates from
the MCV Alumni Association have been invited to attend. The purpose of the
meeting would be to discuss ways in which the Alumni Association could help
VCU sell the hospital project across the state. There was some discussion
about various items dealing with the hospital project.
Dr. Blanton also noted that he will be meeting with the Governor on
December 18 in order to get permission for VCU to distribute information on
the hospital project to members of the General Assembly before the session
convenes in January, 1973.
The meeting was adjourned at 2:10 p.m.
