MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE BOARD OF VISITORS
OF VIRGINIA COMMONWEALTH UNIVERSITY
HELD AUGUST 3, 1970
A special meeting of the Board of Visitors of Virginia Common-
wealth University was held August 3, 1970, at ten o'clock in the forenoon
in the Board Room of Sanger Hall on the Medical College of Virginia,
Health Sciences Division campus.
The purpose of the meeting was to review the Master Site Plan.
Present were all members of the Board except Miss Keyser;
Drs. Blanton, Mullen; Messrs. Scott, Sheffield, and Wilson.
Present by invitation were Drs. Brandt, Brooke, Smith, Wilson,
Woods; Messrs. Anderson, deMonchaux, Heil, Imirie, Shoesmith, Weeks;
and Miss Wilkinson.
Mr. Hunton served as Chairman of the meeting and Mr.
Obenshain as secretary.
Mr. John Weeks presented the Master Plan for the Medical
College of Virginia, Health Sciences Division campus, and Mr. Samuel
A. Anderson, III, presented the Master Plan for the Academic Division,
with the assistance of Mr. David Shoesmith and Mr. John deMonchaux.

After considerable review and discussion, on motion duly
made and seconded the following resolution was unanimously
adopted:
RESOLVED that the Master Plan be approved
in principle and the administration be authorized and
directed to take such steps as are necessary to have
the VCU Master Plan incorporated into the Master
Plan for the City of Richmond.
The meeting was adjourned at 2:40.
