This is a large and elaborate mansarded house with unusual window trim. The cast iron porch is interesting, and the metal cresting on the roof is preserved. This building is on the site of the Benedictine Society of 1876.

The 300 and 400 Blocks of East Clay Street are threatened by the expansion of the central business district, but still retain several notable houses worthy of preservation.
