700 North Second Street - This large early twentieth century building was once the home of the Richmond Beneficial Insurance Company. Along with the now demolished Consolidated Bank and the St. Lukes Head¬ quarters this building is symbolic of the emergence of black capitalism.
702 North Second Street - This commercial building is surprisingly dignified consider¬ ing its small size.

706 North Second Street - This Itallanate wooden house is well-preserved with a fine cornice, porch and window trim. The only modern alteration is the asphalt siding.
708 North Second Street - Less well- preserved than its neighbor, this house contains many of the same features. A portion of its wood picket fence has survived.
