Dear Sir
Enclosed you will please
find my application to Surgeon
Gen[era]l to be transfered to Richmond
in order that I may attend your
Medical School this winter
In your letter to me (21st Aug[ust])
you advised me to persue this course
and you would see that my application
met the attention of Surgeon Gen[era]l
I am extremly anxious to complete
my medical studies as early as possible
and any assistance you can be to aid
my transfer will be confering a lasting
favor
