Virginia Commonwealth University
Minutes
An orientation for new Board members of the Board of Visitors of Virginia
Commonwealth University was held on Thursday, October 28, 2010, at 9 a.m. in the
Scott House located at 909 West Franklin Street.
The meeting was called to order. Board members present were Mesdames Rhodes
(Rector) and James; Messrs. Ginther and McMurtrie; and Drs. Dave and Perkinson. Also
present were Drs. Rao, Macrina, and Warren; Messrs. Bennett, Bunce, Ross, Rubin,
Turnage and Wyeth; and Mrs. Balmer.
The President, Provost and Vice Presidents as well as the General Counsel and Executive
Director of Assurance Services presented an overview of the University and the
administrative divisions. The deans from the schools of Business, Engineering and Social
Work joined the Board members for a lunch and an informal discussion on the schools.
The meeting was adjourned at 1 p.m.
